Structure

Membership of the Association is open to national Public Accounts Committees or similar legislative committees scrutinizing public spending and post expenditure accounts in all ECOWAS States.

Associate Membership is open to Clerks of Public Accounts Committees in all member jurisdictions and other persons or bodies following the approval of the Executive Committee.

Organs of the Association WAAPAC has two organs:

1. The General Assembly

The General Assembly is made up of all registered voting members and all members of the Executive Committee. All members from each member Public Accounts Committee are entitled to attend the General Assembly.

2. The Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is responsible for the administration of the activities of the Association. The Executive Committee shall be made up of elected officers consisting of:

a. Chairperson

b. 1st Deputy Chairperson (To be occupied by two officers representing Anglophone and Francophone interests)

c. 2nd Deputy Chairperson (To be occupied by two officers representing Anglophone and Francophone interests)

d. General Secretary, e. Treasurer; and f. Between 1 and 5 other members such number being an odd number not exceeding nine (9) (as may be approved by the General Assembly).

 

THE SECRETARIAT WAAPAC has a Secretariat headed by an Executive Secretary who is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Association.
